An "unrecognized" Fraternity or Sorority is one which may choose to exist "off campus" due to suspension or dismissal from the Institute or the chapters headquarter staff. These organizations are not permitted to use campus facilities, post flyers, or have any of the privileges recognized organizations have earned.

The following organizations are currently not recognized by Georgia Tech or any of the Greek Governing Councils: Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Sigma Pi, Alpha Tau Omega

The Institute discourages students from joining a fraternity or sorority that the institute does not recognize. Unrecognized fraternities are not held to Institute or Council standards that govern the behavior of other chapters. They operate without the oversight, training, and education provided by staff of the Greek Affairs office.

It is our policy not to provide anyone with the name or phone number of individual students or chapters. However, each Greek president has a mailbox in our office which is checked regularly. You may call our office and leave a message for the student and we will place it in his/her box so that he/she can call you back. You may also send mail to each chapter by addressing it as follows:

If you are interested in sending any advertisements or flyers to our office, please just mail us a stack, address it to Greek Affairs, and we will put them in the chapter mailboxes.  Want to make an announcement/email blast/visit a chapter? Fill out our Public Relations Request Form
